Leo Ascendant (story of Leo) – The story of Leo (this one will be fun; I know many Leo risings and feel deeply for them). Most don’t know this, but Leo risings have it hard—hard in the way that they never truly speak about their troubles. Instead, they just make sure that everyone else is okay—that everyone else's needs or troubles are being met with care. But for them, they carry deep sorrows. Let’s get into these individuals.

First of all, physically—by misconception, they do not have great hair. These people do not have a “mane” worn around their heads (actually, all fire rising signs don’t really have thick hair—and you can usually tell if a man is a Sagittarius rising because he goes bald quite early on). The hair is of fine texture and often lighter in color naturally (unless dyed)—a guideline.
A Leo rising woman will tend to be quite womanly—I mean this by hips and shoulder ratio being the same, with a smaller waist. They hold themselves quite proudly, naturally. They will be average to above average in height, body strong, and possibly a full bottom. The head can be large, and a roundish shape or a very square jaw (round to square). The skin has a good texture with a pink pigmentation or reddish tone (although because Leo is a fixed sign, they will hold stress in their skin—so they’re prone to, yes, reddish flare-ups, or acne, or hives—things like this). I’ve never seen a Leo rising with bad teeth—because their jawlines are bigger, they tend to be able to fit all their teeth: well-spaced, well-shaped (could even be “star-like”).

The way a Leo rising dresses can’t help but always look like they are a little in “costume.” They do look best in brighter tones and playful looks—but regardless, if they put on a pair of cowboy boots or even a floral dress, I suppose it looks like they are playing a character from the prairies that day.

In the home of Leo risings, there are plenty of secrets and secret happenings—information about the home that they don’t want to get out—or something disturbing about it. Many misfortunes are connected to the father. As well, in their adult lives, they have worries, sorrows, and a kind of unfulfillment in terms of their deepest desires, because change is inevitable to get them—the tower always falls. There is something to say that somehow Leo risings find themselves in situations of a ‘power dynamic’—relationships, or their partner, may be controlling or have a need to control. A power over them disturbs their freedom. These people will find themselves in charge of business affairs, or entrusted to—one person of authority trusting them with all their paperwork, image, and such. As well, one new pattern I’ve noticed—and I’m sorry to tell you this, Leo rising (and of course it depends on the chart specifically)—but by guideline, very likely, they will live old and watch everyone they love pass away first.

Leo Ascendant individuals will be involved with many dangers throughout their life—suppose their livelihood is threatened, even. They often get involved with people who have disturbances or are incredibly unpredictable. As well, they are well aware of their company’s peculiarities, so they don’t cross any boundaries or set off a disturbance in another person. Leo risings are masters at psychology; they just have a way of knowing how to act, speak, entertain, please—any person, any moment, in the right direction—true actors. (Even if they had the worst day of their life, you wouldn’t actually know—they would continue to put on a smile or just be the person they have to be for that interaction, almost absorbing the energies of the room, so to speak.)

In their futures (now, there are some differences depending on the decan): if they are a man, it’s very possible they will go through a number of wives for varied reasons; if they are a woman, their husband may be extremely difficult, but smart and skilled. As well, they will be benefited by one powerful man who will lead them throughout their life, or most of their life. Although corny to say—that power can be an individual connected to fame and the arts. Remember, it is someone with authority over them—it could even be a father. Regardless, they are restricted in some way, tied to, and desiring freedom. (They are on guard, but have a kind of “I am free” energy—although not completely—usually, financially.) Now, there are a few variations here, as money can be a rollercoaster for them. Most will go through highs and then lows. (That said, often the first degrees of Leo rising and the last degrees tend to do better financially than others.)

In partnerships—you would almost say, there isn’t one partner but a crowd. Like I said, there may be more than one marriage—or a marriage comes later—or the marriage is more like friendship, and may have a platonic field to its course (or eventually that is what the marriage partnership will turn into). But among all these varied reasons, their life will be filled with increases and losses because of others. They do look for someone who can entertain them—or bring variations and entertainment, build a world for them to be a part of or live in. If they don’t have one particular person, there will be many friends that surround them. They look for a funny partner—someone to have fun. Often, they will go for partners who have lighter hair, or who may be tall—or something unusual in their movements or dress.
The truth is, for them love is… unpredictable, and at times, completely a blur between fulfilling and everything collapsing. Suppose they like to feel unsettled—to brighten their life somehow—or just that they don’t need to make the rules, so they can keep a childlike nature within them, where responsibility or routine falls into the other’s hands.

Their mother’s career is a slow-burn career, or may have taken steps in and out—and this is often the way they will approach their own career: a little frightful, or underdeveloped, or perhaps there are just setbacks they need to take in order to go forward (I am not saying the careers were unsuccessful, could of been in beauty, film, wellness). That said, there is some kind of emotional disturbance to their moms—likely happening in the partnership or the loss of their own mother.
Leo risings struggle with mental and emotional well-being as well (they would never tell anyone), but just in regards to feeling safe or desired—it does not come easy for them. Also, surprisingly, it is very common for Leo risings not to have children. (This is not a rule, as certain aspects depend—but out of the rising signs, these are ones that often may be barren.)

I have written more about this—more specifications depending on the Decans and other interesting points, etc. That said, the degrees that fall into Leo have extreme highs and extreme lows. There’s money, there is poverty, there is devoted religion or even fanaticism in unusual sacred sites, there is isolation, and there is firm innovative power. I find the degrees in Leo extremely fascinating, because something always has a hold on them.
